What is Womxn Leaders?

Womxn Leaders is restoring the gender balance in the Indian political representation by building political careers for women and LGBTQ citizens. It is a platform for all women and LGBTQ folks to express a desire to represent our country in the political system. It's a seed to plant in your head saying "I want to be a parliamentarian” and then, help you become one.

What will I do as a program manager?

We are looking for someone who can take the pieces of the puzzle and help us build the puzzle. Since it’s a volunteer driven organisation, there are a lot of committed and passionate souls that dedicate a few hours every week. The Program Manager’s job will be to channelize this energy towards the strategic annual goals. Detailed scope of work is given below?

What are the hard skills I need?

Core competencies required for this role are communication and advocacy. Primary and secondary research, designing collaterals and managing partnerships will be some of the key tasks for this role.

What are the soft skills I need?

Strong sense of ownership, someone who can hustle and learn on the job, high emotional quotient, optimism and sense of duty, integrity. We are looking for a team player and someone that's okay to learn from mistakes.

Scope of work:


  1. Designing, brainstorming content and using Canva to create/execute templates
  2. Maintaining content calendars
  3. Looking for opportunities to plug Womxn Leaders in current events
  4. Ensuring blog writers are contributing on time
  5. Daily social media updates
  6. Handling customer relations

Research and advocacy:

  1. Co-ordinating with offices of womxn MPs, MLAs and other elected representatives
  2. Researching the manifesto and charter of various womxn oriented movements around the globe
  3. Augmenting and updating womxn leader’s knowledge bank
  4. Creative communication channels to reach out to strategic stakeholders


  1. Scouting for strategic opportunities for Womxn Leaders’ bootcamps
  2. Building a co-alition of organisations with shared interests and goals
  3. Managing guest relations

Can you apply?

  1. Do you identify as a womxn?
  2. Have you studied public policy, politics, similar disciplines OR have built your understanding of indian polity beyond formal studies and training?
  3. Do you have at least 1-2 years of work experience?
  4. Are you okay to travel extensively around India and in train/bus if and when needed?
  5. Does getting your hands dirty and being on ground excite you
